Lately, I think I've gotten to the point were I have waaaaay too much shit. Too many VST's, too many clock cycles to waste on too many VST's, too many sequencer choices, too many fx. I spend more time thinking about what to use on a track, than actually using the shit to make a track.
I need to strip away a lot of shit, go back to the basics.
Back when all I had was a Boss DS330, Novation MM10X, and a 486sx25 runnin PowerTracks Pro, I knocked out something like 10 to 20 beats a week. Now I'm lucky to get started on one a month. And it's not like I don't keep my shit with me, I take my laptop, MPD16, and FastTrak with me to work every day. I just waste time with all of the choices.
I think I'm finna strip it back for a bit. Get creative with my shit again. I got a P2-333 machine I just built out to run Cubase 3.7 or 5.1, FL Studio 5, and only a few VST's (EXSP24, EVP73, Tritium Bassline, and maybe one other).
I wanna see what I can do with much less.
